Helen Mae Moesinger Thomas, 90 years old and a 50-year-old resident of St. George. Utah passed from this earth on April 18, 2024, after fighting a courageous fight with Diabetes.

She was born in Ogden, Utah on August 15, 1933, to Fred W. Moesinger and Helen Reardon Moesinger. Helen was married to Paul Jackson Thomas on April 18, 1952. To this union they added four children, Dana, Michael, Spencer, and Richard.

Helen was raised in Ogden, Utah attending school there and graduating from Ogden High School and attended Weber College.

She loved to dance and was a beautiful, tiny ballerina. She was able to study dance for many years at the Sophie Reed School of Dance in Ogden, Utah. She has passed those talents on to Granddaughters and Great Granddaughters which gave her much joy. Dancing was a great highlight of her life. She enjoyed all the Arts and always appreciated the talents of others. She was very musically talented, playing the piano and singing with her beautiful voice.

Helen loved the beauties of the earth, especially flowers, working in her garden and tending to her flowers and vegetables was one of her favorite things to do. She loved to watercolor and paint. Flowers were her love and she painted them beautifully, making many cards for friends.

During her lifetime she worked at Utah General Depot in Ogden, Utah, Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, California and for the state of Utah in the family support system in St. George, Utah.

She loved the Lord and her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was an active member and a great example of her belief. Helen had the privilege of working at the Institute of Religion in St. George, Utah and as a Librarian for several years. She also served a mission in the St. George Temple and was happy to serve in many positions that she was called to. She especially loved Relief Society and was able to serve on the Relief Society Stake Board.

Helen is survived by her three children: Dana (Morus) Gunnell of Burley, Idaho, Michael and Paul Thomas of St. George, Utah, and Richard Thomas of Veyo, Utah. She has been blessed with 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Helen is proceeded in death by her husband, Paul J. Thomas, her son Edward Spencer Thomas, her grandson Michael Paul Thomas Jr., her parents Fred and Helen Moesinger, her brother Clifton Moesinger, Great Grand Daughter, and many other relatives waiting for her on the other side. Helen was very kind to everyone that knew her. She will be truly missed by all. ‘till we meet again.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor after the service in the Ogden City Cemetery, May 4, 2024, 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.

Helen was a delight to be around. We would swim together each night at the Sunstone Condos. What a joy it was to have been apart of her life and enjoy the evenings together .I have been gone from there for along time but have thought of her and the joy she was.
