Terre Covington, beloved mother, grandmother, wife & daughter, passed away on June 24th after heroically battling stage four Glioblastoma brain cancer. Terre is survived by her five children—Tawni Featherstone (Daniel), Tamber McAllister (Eric), Trace Covington, Tashly Hamel (Chris), and Tevin Covington. She is also survived by Jack & Linda Tyler, her parents, and her five siblings—Aaron, Harold, Brenda, Laura, and Marti. Terre was an amazing, caring grandmother and will be missed by her six grandchildren—Emma, Marcus, Desmond, Lilly, Leo, and Casey.
Terre was born in Provo, UT, which was the starting point of an attempt to “Carmen Sandiego” the United States of America…Terre moved from Provo to Pittsburg, to St. Louis, to Pittsburg again, to Salt Lake City, to Cheyenne, to Delaware, to Berkley, to Salt Lake again, to Sacramento, to El Dorado Hills, and finally landing in Gold River. While in Salt Lake City, the 2nd time, Terre met Tim Covington and later married in 1981. Together they raised their five children, and remained friends after their divorce.
Terre had a love for sports, especially swimming, and later swam competitively for Murray High School and American River College. Afterward she coached the American River Patriots in Sacramento. She selflessly devoted her athletic expertise to her children, which laid the tracks for their adventurous spirits and love of trying new things.
Terre earned a nursing degree and worked as an SICU nurse for over twenty years. Nursing suited Terre’s compassionate temperament, fulfilling her need to take care of those around her, including her peers and fellow employees. Terre worked for Mercy General in downtown Sacramento, then moved to Sutter General Hospital.
Terre loved spending time with her two dogs Diesel and Toe Tag, and as a caring grandma, visited her grandkids in Utah as frequently as work permitted. Terre also enjoyed cooking barbecue on her Traeger Grill, painting in her spare time, “cautiously” speeding in her Mustangs and watching sports. She devoted much of her exciting and competitive nature to the Sacramento Kings, but never got to see them bring home a championship, (since the 2002 Western Conference Finals were rigged.)
Terre Covington will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Terre was an amazing friend. I have never known anyone who is so forgiving and accepting. I could talk to her about anything and never had to worry about judgement or criticism. We met at work when we both worked at Mercy General in the SICU. She was an amazing nurse and taught me so much during the time we worked together. We remained friends years after we no longer worked together. We had so many fun times together. We could have fun doing nothing and would laugh so hard it hurt. I miss her dearly. Sending love to her beautiful children, mom, sister Laura and brother Aaron. All of who I had the pleasure of getting to know and was accepted as one of the family. I know she is in heaven free of pain and feeling beautiful! RIP Terre
We are sorry for your loss. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
Sending my love, thoughts, and prayers. Rest in Peace.
We'll miss you Terre.

A champion of family, friends and faith! A loyal friend and coach, even beyond swimming.....loved by many, miss you Terre
Loved working with Terre at Mercy General! She was great!
I admired that she loved her children so much. She taught them a lot. She was truly an inspiration to all of us.
Terre truly was a great woman. As a mother you can see her in all of her children. As a nurse I had the pleasure of haveing surgery at Sutter general, where even though I was in pre op and later in recovery, she took the time to come make sure I was well taken care of. This world is worse off without her.
Terre was an amazing nurse and friend. She was a straight shooter who always was honest with you. She precepted me as a new ICU nurse and help give me knowledge and confidence in my assessment capabilities and critical thinking skills. She was one of my "go to" people. I'm still heartbroken about her passing. I'm so lucky to have known her. Sending love and hugs to all of you.
So sorry to hear of Terre’s passing. I remember her as such a happy, cheerful person. We send regrets and love to your whole family!
