Mary Jane Avery, the matriarch of our family, passed away August 21, 2020 at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah. She was born June 29, 1921 in Smith Lake, New Mexico.
Mary is survived by her daughters Lupe Haswood (Lee) and Peggy Avery, 9 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her children Tracy Avery and Tony Avery.
Grandma loved to travel and did so on her own. Some of her favorite travels were to Wendover and state fairs around the west. Grandma made many friends on her 99-year journey (too many to name).
We love her and she will be dearly missed!
A graveside service will be held Thursday August 27, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah, 84123. In compliance with Salt Lake County’s mandate on facial coverings, masks are mandatory at all funeral services. Social distancing will be enforced.
