Janet Lou Saitz Maroney, age 84, passed away on June 12, 2020 in West Valley City, Utah surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on January 18, 1936 in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Clara Saitz. She married Richard Thomas Maroney on September 21, 1957.

During her early years, she lived with her parents and two sisters in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania. She loved the country life and loved taking long drives up to the mountain with her sons. She loved the outdoors and loved everything about nature. When out on her nature drives, she was known for feeding hummingbirds and squirrels and would always tell us not to eat the berries. She loved her flower beds and loved sitting out on her patio bird watching. Janet worked many years at the Midvale Fraternal Order of Eagles and loved bartending and having conversations with the patrons. Janet could make anyone laugh and loved having a good time. She had many good friends for the Eagles that will miss her dearly. Janet raised seven wonderful children who were her pride and joy. She loved having family parties and having everyone over for dinner. She was a great cook and taught many of her children how to cook and bake her famous pie crusts. She loved watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren dance and play musical instruments. Whenever they would come to visit, they always put on a show for her. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly. She would light up anytime anyone would call her and loved talking to her family. Janet loved collecting knick-knacks and listening to wind chimes. She loved playing the piano and singing and was a phenomenal artist. Our memory of you will be springtime flowers, windchimes, butterflies, and hummingbirds. She will be missed dearly and will be in our hearts forever.

She is survived by her seven children Timothy (Lori) Maroney, Vikki (Kenny) Vigil, Susie (Joe) Salinas, Michael Maroney, Cindy (Todd) Hollister, Patrick Maroney, Richard (Natalie) Maroney, 7 grandchildren, sisters Marlene Breakwell and Victoria Luhowiak, 8 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son-in-law Kenny Vigil.
