Loving wife and mother, Elizabeth Ann Sagers (38) of Kearns, Utah, passed away at home on February 1, 2019 after a 14 month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Elizabeth was born in Ogden, Utah to Claude and Brenda Mecham on April 26, 1980. She graduated from Snow College and Westminster College with degrees in nursing. Her faith in Jesus Christ was a core part of her life. She served in the Guatemala City South LDS mission from 2002 - 2004 where she became the mission nurse. On June 29, 2007, she married Stephen Sagers in the Salt Lake Temple. She worked as a registered nurse at Cottonwood Hospital & Intermountain Medical Center for over 15 years tending to oncology & medical patients.
While living in Fountain Green, Utah she had the opportunity to participate multiple times in the Manti Mormon Miracle Pageant. She enjoyed traveling and visited many faraway places like Israel, Guatemala, Switzerland, Argentina and many places in the US. Spending time with nature and her family made her happy. She enjoyed working with the Primary and Cub Scouts.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband Stephen, daughter Megan, brothers and sisters: Carolyn Matthews (Jacob), Jacqueline Jenson (Jacob), Michelle Hutchinson (Scott), Jacob Mecham (Rebecca), David Mecham, Mary Christensen (Keith), and her parents Claude and Brenda Mecham.
Elizabeth’s family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to all those who supported and loved her throughout her life and especially during her cancer battle; of special note the amazing doctors and nurses (many of whom were her former co-workers) who helped to take care of her during her final weeks.
