David Matthew Snavely died on 7 September 2020 at home in Lehi, Utah at the age of 41. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on 13 April 1979, the son of Georgina & John Snavely. David graduated from Satellite High School in Florida and served a Mission in Lima Peru. He graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Music, Vocal Performance-Music Performance.
He married his precious wife, Natalia in January 2010 and was a devoted husband for over 10 years.
David had a great love for music! He has a great love for Jesus Christ and marveled at and pursued the blessings afforded us all through the great Plan of Happiness! He had a strong faith in and pursued creating his Eternal Family. He reflected that love of music, faith, and family in all that he did.
He was thrilled to have had the opportunity to reflect that love of all three through his acceptance and work in the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square.
David loved his family, all five of his children, and his dear wife. He would do anything for them. He loved to serve others as well and did so throughout his life.
He was known as a musician, teacher, competitor, leader, friend, athlete, dancer extraordinaire, cook, loving husband, and dad.
He is survived by his wife, Natalia, his 5 children, his 2 sisters, and brother and 5 nephews and 9 nieces, and a large extended family and friends who will all fondly remember his love, friendly smile, and positive impact. A private family funeral to celebrate David will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020.

I have word with him from the beginning at GDIT and Maximus. I was always willing to help with my never ending user error computer issues. At one time I had lost all the things on my computer he made me my own special backup file so he could always get my info back for me. I too will always remember the gallon of milk and bag of cereal. I remember learning of his work with the MTC. It didn’t surprise me. He had so much love for music. He was truly an awesome and amazing person. One of the great ones. My thoughts and prayers to his lovely wife and children. May God Bless you all always.
Just goes to show that we never know everything there is to know about a person. For instance, I had no idea that he was in the MOTAB... Now he'll be adding his voice to the Angel's Choir.

I met David back in 2013 when we worked for GDIT. I will forever miss a gallon of milk and a bowl of cereal. He was so kind to everyone, willing to help when he could. I will miss seeing him around the Maximus building. He was taken too soon. RIP David, best LSA guy ever. So sorry for your loss.
David and I served as music director and pianist in Primary. We had so much fun working together and with the kids. And, I think we put on 2 of the very best programs — many Ward members told us so. David is an amazing soul and wonderful man. I love him and his family. Your bright light will be missed David — gone way too soon — but you leave a beautiful legacy in your amazing children. Prayers, sympathies and love to Natalia and the kids — thinking of you during this difficult time. Families are forever.
I was honored to sit by Dave in the Tabernacle Choir. Early on, Dave shared with me his condition and we talked about it in depth; his heart was full of faith and testimony. With each new seating assignment after moving to the Conference Center to accommodate seasonal crowds or back to the Tabernacle, I was so happy when I landed next to Dave. I would tell him that and I'd always get a little chuckle, but I was always sincere. I enjoyed not only his beautiful voice, but also his sense of humor and good-natured personality. I could feel his love and testimony of the Savior and the Plan of Happiness. He was always smiling and ALWAYS in tune. An absolute joy to know and be around. May our Heavenly Father's brightest blessings and Spirit be with his sweet wife and lovely children to comfort them as they navigate this time. And may they remember the Prophet Joseph Smith's inspired words, "The spirits of the just are exalted to a greater and more glorious work; hence, they are blessed in their departure to the world of spirits. Enveloped in flaming fire, they are not far from us, and know and understand our thoughts, feelings and motions... ." ("Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith," p.326.)
Dave, is such a bright light and a shining example of "goodness". It has been my pleasure to get to know him as his Baritone Section Leader in the Tabernacle Choir. Dave, always had a twinkle in his eye and shared his testimony through his actions as well as his beautiful singing voice. I am a better person for knowing Dave. My thoughts and prayers to his surviving sweetheart and family.
David was my section leader in Choir School for the Tabernacle Choir. Every time I came in, although he could plainly see I was there, I would think I was so funny and say "I'm here!" He would smile and chuckle. Instantly I felt of his goodness and fine nature. My heart is full of gratitude, and prayers for the family to sense a closeness to David for the rest of their lives.
I am so sorry for your loss. I serve in the Tabernacle Choir and will miss the opportunity to sing with Dave. May the "peace of God, which passeth all understanding, . . . keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:7), until that glorious time when you reunite with Dave. And may the Holy Spirit comfort you at this difficult time and throughout the coming years. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
