Darwin A Vincent was born on June 26th 1945 to Billy J Vincent and Venna Averett. He was the third of four children. His older brother Barry, older sister Gay, and followed by his younger sister Lesa. Darwin lived an adventurous childhood in Springville growing up in the golden age following the end of world war II. He often told stories of palling around with his friends trapping musk rats, swimming in the mill pond and fishing hobble creek. I recall many stories of the activities he took part in with the Springville Jaycees as well as nickel drive in movies with a coke. Darwin truly lived a charmed childhood, one that many of us could only dream of in this day and age.

At the age of twelve Darwin began working with his Father Billy and Grandfather Thomas (Dode) as a water boy for their construction company "Vincent Construction". Darwin took note of the work of those around him and became an esteemed Iron Worker. His job with Vincent Construction set him up for the beginning of his iron working career. Darwin joined The Iron Workers Local 27 in the 1960’s in Salt Lake City after his oldest son Darwin Troy Vincent was born to his first wife Patricia Boren. He worked for company’s such as Vincent construction, M&K, Bechtel, Southern steel, Lockheed, Luden Elevator, Shurtlift & Andrews. Darwin always spoke with great pride about his time working on vandenberg airforce base on SLC6 as a rigger/welder, he said it was the greatest job he ever held building the launch pads for those rockets.

Aside from Darwin's career, he had his true pride and joy at home with his children. Darwin and his first wife Patricia Boren had five children; Troy (Debra), Scott (DeeDee), Danny (Beth) , Jeff and his only daughter Katie (Richard). He loved spending time with them whether it was hunting, fishing or camping Darwin truly enjoyed teaching his children about the outdoors. Years later after being separated from his wife Patricia he met the woman he would spend the remainder of his years with, Kandy Christine Hebner.

Kandy was Darwin's pin-up girl that he had always dreamed of meeting, not to mention being lucky enough to marry and call his wife. On January 12th 1985 Darwin and Kandy were married in Springville, Utah. They went on to have three sons Christopher (Jessica), Clifford and Thor who sadly was still born. Darwin and Kandy lived in homes back and forth between Provo and Springville finally settling at a home in Springville nestled next to hobble creek. Darwin had retired when they moved to his final home in Springville and spent his days working on hobbies and keeping an eye on his 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Darwin was diagnosed with COPD in 2012 and began to slow his pace. He held on and enjoyed time with his family for 8 years and finally found peace on October 14th 2020.

Darwin was an amazing husband and father that will be sorely missed. Darwin was our role model and hero, he was always there to give the advice that needed to be given even if it was difficult to accept. Darwin was a talented story teller, he would sit down with his audience and draw them in no matter if they had heard the same story a hundred times or not, you were drawn in for the adventure. His family loved him dearly as he did them. Husband, Father he will be missed by all that knew him.
